Coffee your skin can enjoy, too.

Coffee your skin can enjoy, too.

Let’s be honest: mornings without coffee can feel a little… unfinished. There’s the smell. The sound. That first sip. The tiny moment of peace before the day gets going. And then, somewhere between the second sip and checking your phone for the first time, you’re officially a functioning human being.

We love coffee for the ritual, the comfort and, of course, the little pick-me-up it gives us. But here’s something you may not know: coffee isn’t just having a moment in your mug. It’s also having a moment in skincare. And no, we’re not suggesting you rub your leftover latte onto your face. We’re talking about coffee seed oil– a nourishing oil derived from the seeds of the coffee plant, and an ingredient we’ve included in The Cure Face + Eye Cream. What does it do for your skin? Grab your coffee and keep reading.

Before we talk about what coffee seed oil does, let’s talk about where it comes from. Coffee seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the coffee plant. While the coffee you drink and the oil used in skincare come from the same plant, they are very different things.

Your morning coffee is brewed to give you that rich, aromatic drink we all know and love. Coffee seed oil, on the other hand, is a lipid-rich botanical ingredient used in cosmetic formulations for its nourishing and moisturizing properties. It naturally contains fatty acids, including linoleic and oleic acids, along with other compounds that make it an interesting ingredient for skin.

In simple terms? Coffee seed oil is one of those ingredients that helps your skin feel soft, comfortable and well moisturized.

We tend to think of coffee as something that perks us up. It’s part of our morning routine. It helps us feel more alert, gets us moving and, for many of us, is one of those little daily rituals we genuinely look forward to. And, in short, that’s exactly what it does for our skin. Not only is it incredibly moisturizing, it helps to firm, brighten, and awaken the skin. The caffeine content constricts blood vessels, which reduces puffiness and swelling, an excellent treatment for your undereyes.

There's something wonderfully circular about it. You start the morning with coffee in your cup– a ritual that wakes you up and gets your day moving. Then, as part of your skincare routine, coffee seed oil brings another side of the coffee plant to your skin.

Coffee for your morning. Coffee seed oil for your skin.

You’ll find Coffee Seed Oil in our daily essential, The Cure Face + Eye Cream.
